WFTDA Rankings Calculator Algorithm Adjusted, October Rankings Released

With the recent update to adjust the calculation of a team’s strength factor in April 2014, the WFTDA Rankings Committee re-evaluated the value of the game type multiplier in the rankings algorithm. This multiplier gave additional weight to tournament games, with Championships games being the highest value and regular sanctioned games the lowest.

Rose City Rollers Win Charleston Playoffs, Championships Seeding Set

October 5, 2014

The final WFTDA Playoffs of 2014, held Oct. 3-5 in Charleston, West Virginia, added a fifth country to the roster of the international 2014 WFTDA Championships, to be held Oct. 31-Nov. 2 in Nashville, Tennessee. Victorian Roller Derby League, of Melbourne, became the first-ever Australian team to qualify for WFTDA Championships and placed second in the Charleston Playoffs.

Final D1 playoffs in Charleston open with game time changes

October 2, 2014

The final of our Division 1 Playoffs open this weekend in Charleston, WV. A flight delay for one of our teams means some game time movements for day one competitions. The Jet City Rollergirls vs Columbia QuadSquad (Game 1) will move to the 12pm time slot, while the SoCal Derby vs Mad Rollin' Dolls (Game 2) moves up to the 10am spot.

New Officiating Skills Assessments Available

The WFTDA Officiating Committee, working in collaboration with officials from the Men’s Roller Derby Association as well as WFTDA officials from around the world, is releasing a new Officiating Skills Assessment to assist leagues with assessing officials against a set of standard criteria.
